Hot Wheels and Helicopters

Devin and her bridal party arrived at Hangar 21 South hair and makeup ready. Champagne was poured and the girls clinked glasses toasting the bride. After a quick outfit change from her white robe into a gorgeous crepe wedding dress, Devin was ready for her first look with Jake. Jake and his groomsmen suited up in the mezzanine where beers were cracked open, and memories were made before sending the groom to the side patio. Of course, everyone tried to get a peek at Devin and Jake from the glass Hangar door as Devin approached Jake from behind. With a tap of the shoulder, he turned around to see his beautiful bride and both their faces lit up with smiles. Friends and family cheered from the sideline while Jake and Devin embraced the moment together. The wedding party rushed the stage where the bride and groom stood and posed for pictures before lining up for ceremony.

A black acrylic welcome sign ushered guests into the side patio at Hangar 21 South. Golden columns stood center stage and were decorated with white flowers and greenery and two matching floral arrangements marked the back of the aisle. Once everyone had filled the seats, Jake led the procession followed by the remainder of the wedding party and ending with Devin. In front of all their family and friends, the bride and groom read handwritten vows, exchanged rings, and shared a kiss to close out the ceremony. Everyone then cheered and followed the newlyweds into cocktail hour on the tarmac.

Beer and wine flowed from the bar while Thai Vegetable Spring Rolls and Curry Apple Chicken Skewers were tray passed to hungry guests. A modern lounge with emerald green accents provided a relaxing place for guests to sit back and relax until dinner and cocktail tables were surrounded with good conversation. Meanwhile, Devin and Jake headed to the tarmac for their flight over Orange County, but first, they hopped into a Corvette that drove them directly to our helicopter doors. As cocktail hour came to an end, guests made their way inside the hangar to await the arrival of Devin and Jake. A floral install hung above the center of the room and the ceremony columns were repurposed as the sweetheart backdrop. Tables were topped with ivory gauze runners, white floral centerpieces, candles, and black table numbers and each seat had a corresponding guests’ name. Everyone cheered as the bride and groom made their entrance into the hangar from the tarmac. In the center of the room, the two shared their first dance, then took a seat at their sweetheart table. Family made toasts first, then friends, then dinner was served. Plates filled with Sweet and Spicy Korean Chicken, Vietnamese Lemongrass Pork, Short Grain Sticky Rice, Broccolini Spears, and Chow Mein made their way to each table and a final champagne toast was made. After dinner, the bride and groom invited guests to enjoy ice cream for dessert and join them on the dance floor to show off their best moves. As the evening came to a close, everyone went out front for a sparkler send off and the bride and groom drove away in the Corvette from cocktail hour.
